Retro La Valencia Hotel Wedding

I totally felt that Connor and I were kindred spirits when we first met (both dog lovers and addicted to true crime documentaries). I was so excited for Connor and Darren’s day because I knew it would be a little less traditional and all about a good time! Connor is not all about the typical “bride” vibes, and I absolutely love this. She was just ready to party with Darren and all of her closest people! Since Connor and Darren met working together for the Padres, there were lots of San Diego friends joining them on their day :)

The best thing about a couple who isn’t super traditional, they loveeee a documentary style approach. We didn’t spend tons of time on formal photos, it was all about those candid moments. I knew Connor and Darren love that filmy, retro style look so we definitely incorporated that into the experience. I even brought my little 35mm film camera along for an extra bit of fun :) My absolute favorite shots were of them crossing the street abbey road style in La Jolla!

Their guests showed up in style playing into the pops of color that Connor absolutely loves. Her take on a retro style wedding was giving major Madonna Inn mood and I was so here for it. La Valencia is known for it’s iconic pink architecture and striped umbrellas, so the pink and red florals were the perfect touches. I just adored Connor + Darren’s laid back personalities, we had such a good time together!

If you love the La Valencia hotel as much as I do, make sure you check out more of my work there!
