Romantic Franciscan Gardens Wedding

Like true millennials, Michaela and Paul are a Bumble success story. Their first date started as a quick chat on the beach with a bottle of wine and slowly turned into hours of conversation, street tacos, and a romantic first kiss overlooking the city. They hit it off so well that Paul decided to move up to Newport Beach from San Diego after a while of driving back and forth. The following year, they were engaged!

I was also lucky enough to photograph her friend Kendall’s wedding this year as well so we got to see a lot of each other :) Michaela and Paul have such a fun group of friends, their bright energy attracts the best of people! Their genuine personalities and sense of humor make them such a loveable pair, I absolutely adore them!

Their wedding took place at one of my all-time favorite venues, Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano. Across the street, they got ready in the sweetest little hotel. Then the couple met at the historic Mission for their first look (after the boys had a pitcher of beer at the local bar of course). Their best friends cheered them on after they shared their private vows, and everyone’s eyes were a little misty!

Guests began to take their seats in the garden a short while after we walked over to the venue, and Michaela got ready to walk down the aisle with her sweet dad! Their ceremony was so beautiful, more happy tears were flowing! They shared their first kiss as a married couple and headed down to the adorable little village for sunset photos!

Meanwhile, Kelsey Events and Penelope Pots Floral Design were hard at work transforming the garden into an outstanding reception space. Romantic florals were donned upon each table, and stunning lights were hung under the pergola for the head table. Sleek, modern chairs accompanied each table. The sweetheart table was the star of the show, I seriously was gasping at how beautiful it looked!

Michaela + Paul danced the night away with all of their favorite people after listening to heartfelt speeches and enjoying a delicious dinner. I am so happy for them and the beautiful life they have ahead!

If you love this garden wedding, check out another gorgeous one at the L’Auberge Del Mar!
