Mt. Woodson Castle Wedding | Whitney + Shubir

Mt. Woodson Castle Wedding - Ramona, CA

One thing I’ve learned throughout my years as a wedding photographer - Indian culture is all about having a GOOD time! When Whitney + Shubir told me they would be incorporating Hindu traditions into their ceremony at Mt. Woodson Castle, I also knew that this day was going to be incredible special and unique. I absolutely love when couples choose to honor their heritage and beliefs on their day. Their wedding was the perfect mix of Christian and Indian traditions.

“Our favorite thing about Mt. Woodson Castle was the beautiful scenery. We loved how it was a unique space hidden in the mountains that showed a different side of San Diego to our guests. Both us and our guests were able to use the whole interior of the castle and the outdoor lawns which was amazing!”

I have to say, my favorite part of this day was the toasts. Whitney’s man of honor kicked it off with the most heartfelt speech I’ve heard in, well, ever! Her Dad then followed it up with an equally sweet toast (cue me ugly crying in the corner). The couple agreed as well, when I asked what their favorite part of the night was, they answered “Our favorite moments would be our ceremony and the speeches from our parents and friends”
As if Whitney + Shubir’s abundant love for each other wasn’t enough, their family provided even MORE.

I also had the honor of capturing their rehearsal dinner the night before, a traditional Indian celebration hosted by Shubir’s incredible family. They were the most welcoming group of people EVER and they really know how to have a good time! Plus…the food was to die for (and you know I’m all about the foodz).

Whitney and Shubir’s advice to engaged couples - “Have fun while planning! It will inevitably be a stressful time, but remember that the two of you are in it together. Go on little dates in the weeks leading up to the wedding where you don't talk about planning and try to make the whole process enjoyable.”
